Hey friends! I’m so excited to share images from a recent wedding at Round Barn Ranch Derby Kansas. This was the PERFECT location since the newlyweds had a romantic, rustic-inspired wedding! Haley and Austin thought this thing through from beginning to end, and there wasn’t a shortage of dreamy, Pinterest-worthy moments.

I mean, check this out:

I especially loved all the twinkly lights & Candles. And can we talk about that dress for a second?

Haley said that she purchased this from David’s Bridal and I don’t think she could have chosen a more flattering gown. Do you?

“Crazy! It was not how I had planned or expected it to be at all because of COVID. But at the end of the day we were married and those who couldn’t be there in person were able to celebrate with us from afar,” she told me.

The groom was a total dreamboat, too:

I will never grow tired of rustic weddings, especially when they’re done so impeccably like this one. Congratulations again on your wedding, you two, and may your years be filled with happiness and plenty of mason jars!

Some Additional Q&A for the lovely couple.

  1. What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding? Enjoy the journey. Remember that at the end of the day you will be married and that’s what matters. Nothing went as I had planned because of COVID but investing in a marriage is more important than having the perfect wedding. Also, make sure to have someone in charge of making sure you eat! One of my good friends was in charge of this and brought us plates of food and cake after we cut it. We didn’t eat much because of everything going on but we wouldn’t have eaten at all if that didn’t happen.
  2. What photography-related advice would you offer to a couple? Photos capture all the best moments of your big day. Trust your photographer. I’m pretty laid back and didn’t plan much but trusted Saindy and her creativeness and she was amazing.
  3. Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one? I got my dress from David’s Bridal. It was the last one I tried on during my first visit and I fell in love with it. I’ve always hated tulle and ended up with a dress with tulle and absolutely loved it. Don’t discount something until you try it on because it might be the one.
  4. How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day? Fantastic! We had a small wedding and I had immediate family roaming everywhere. Saindy was great working in the snow and cold to get some amazing shots. Also getting family in and out quickly since it was cold. She was great to work with and would 100% recommend her.
  5. Any tips on how to prepare for the wedding photos? Make sure to have all your detail stuff ready the day of. I prepped it the night before so I wouldn’t forget in the morning. If you have certain shots you want that you’ve seen before send those to your photographer so they can plan accordingly. Have fun!
